The controversy surrounding the AI-generated deepfake video involving Janhvi Kapoor has now drawn strong reactions from leading Telugu stars. Jr NTR was among the first to condemn the digitally manipulated version of Devara’s popular song ‘Chuttamalle’, calling the act “disgusting, sick and shameless” and warning that those responsible should face strict legal action. NTR also urged people not to watch, share or engage with such content.
It’s a Digital Sexual Assault
Now, Vijay Deverakonda has extended his support to NTR by quote-tweeting his statement. Vijay expressed shock at the manner in which technology is being misused, saying, “We have stooped to the levels of absolute lowlife.” He demanded the harshest possible legal consequences for those responsible and questioned how society has become so insensitive to degrading others. Vijay also described such non-consensual AI manipulation as “the digital equivalent of sexual assault” and called for the law to treat such acts with utmost seriousness.
‘Rowdy Star’ Takes a Stand
Vijay Deverakonda further voiced his support for the people taking a stand against the circulation of the manipulated content. The incident has once again brought attention to the growing misuse of AI to create sexually explicit material involving real people without their consent. With NTR and Vijay publicly condemning the incident and calling for stringent action, the controversy has also triggered a wider conversation about the need for stronger safeguards against AI-generated deepfakes and the circulation of such material online.
